My first Soul Journal page...

This is my first Soul Journal page, as opposed to SoulCollage.

It was interesting and I found it a little hard, but I think that has more to do with my choice of subject then anything else....

Following on from the day that I have had today, I chose the concept 'Misunderstood'. The line "Communicate lovingly with understanding as my goal" - has been running through my head all afternoon, it is from a page of affirmations that I have had for about 15 years or so. It had to be on the page.

I think I might still need to talk it over with my journal with words, also. It still remains a ripped open wound even after collaging it....

sigh

I fell in the hole again..... damnit

Will share some of my thoughts on Soul Journalling. I was worried that I would make a Journal page, and be wishing I had made a SoulCollage card instead. I have decided that I would make both at the same time if I felt the need to. The journal page with words and images, and the card with no words, just images.

I am the one who is universal consciousness. I see all. I witnessed the beginning of life and I am still watching you now. I have the light of the goddess in my eye.

I still have lots to do and dialogue with this card. I love it and it feels very deep. I will come back and add to this one in the near future.

Inner Warrior Woman

I am the one who is strong and fearless. I rush forward to protect my loved ones and myself. I am scared of no one. I scream the victory scream. I am not intimidated by anyone and am filled with the self confidence born of total self acceptance. My sword is raised to slay anyone who dares to step in my path. I forge forward, moving along the path that is set out before me. I am one strong scary bitch. I am invunerable and immovable in my resolve.

I really really love this woman. She is one hell of a woman. I want to be like her.

The Dreamtime

I am the one who is connected to the land, the sun, the universe. I am the dreamtime. I am the one who weeps when I see what humankind is doing to our mother earth. I am indigenous. I am the spiral of life. I am the sun - the giver of light and life. I am earth and sky. I am light and dark. I am rainbow serpent. I am the stars and the sea.

This card intrigues me. It was made from two aboriginal health brochures. I didnt realise the eyes were different 'way ups' until after it was made and my friend was looking at it, with me looking from the other way - i was shocked to realise that it could be looked at either way. I am not sure what that represents, but am looking forward to working more with this card.

High Priestess

I am the one who is the High Priestess. I have been initiated into the ways of the wise ones. My eyes can see right into your soul and there is no hiding from me. I see the true essence of your being. I use my hands to heal. I am in harmony with each of the elements - Air, Earth, Fire and Water. I am strong and confident, loving and caring. I guide your footsteps along the path to self awareness and into your true power.

I looooovvveeee this card. One of my absolute favourites.

WT - Faerie garden

I am not exactly sure what this card represents, and even less sure why I have put it up here on the blog. I know it needs something else and am just waiting for that thing to appear.

Bush Flower Essences

I am the one who heals. I am a vibrational healer, healing the source of the issue, be it physical, mental, spiritual or emotional. I understand that any illness is the physical manifestation of an spiritual, mental or emotional issue. I am a catalyst for self healing.

I have made this card, not only to honour the Australian Bush Flower Essences, which I love, but to point me in the direction of them when I draw this card. At some point in the near distant future, I intend to make a seperate deck - each one representing a single essence. This will be a very powerful tool in self healing i feel.

The real me

I am the one who smashes through the camoflage to reveal the true me. I stand straight and tall and stand out from my surroundings. I am confident and beautiful. I am powerful and not afraid to show who I truly am. I am one hell of a woman who wields a mean mattock.

Best Friends

I am the one who spends time with good friends. Laughing and talking and having a good time. I am the one who can let go of the troubles of the world and relax with friends. I am the one who can share my true self with others that are close to me. I can be silly and not feel self conscious.

I love this card. I especially love the 'photo booth' pictures at the top, particularly the bum one. I remember doing those photos with my friends when we were teenagers. I love too the beautiful orchid in the centre. I feel this is the highest form of flower, plus it looks like it is speaking.

Death

I am the one who has willingly walked through the portal and is embracing transformation into the next phase of being with an open mind and heart. I am free and transformed into my true essence. The golden light of the universe envelops and welcomes me. All that I was falls away and I move forward into all that I can be.

It is good to be making and posting cards again. Follwoing are the cards that I have made over the past few weeks.

I am not sure - but this may be my Source Card (for now anyway - we can change them cant we??).

I absolutely melt when i look at the ecstasy on the face of this lady. I find it to be a totally mesmerising card. I cant wait to dialogue with it.

WT Peace within

I see this card as representing finding peace within yourself regardless of what kind of rat race you find yourself in.

The butterfly under this meditating figure is hiding a distinctly phallic shaped shadow under the water of the pool. I think it is the fountain spout thingy for the pond. It wasnt til it was finished and i sat and looked at it that I saw the shadow. then it was all i could see. so i had to go searching for something to put over it......

the butterfly works for me. for i feel that when peace can be found in chaos, then transformation must take place.... am i stretching too much?? Never mind. Will dialogue later.

Big Black Dog

I hate this card. I made it after I saw the image of this dog in a book.

I have a 'past life memory' (only way i can explain it, as it hasnt happened in this lifetime and i have full memory of it) of being chased down and run down from behind by a 'Big Black Dog'. I was a child running for my life - the dog caught me, knocked me over and jumped on top of me. That is the end of the memory.

This dog has haunted me all my life. Now he is chasing my daughter - she used to physically see it when she was little and unblocked, convinced it was really chasing her down our hallway. Now she is a teenager - she dreams about it chasing her.

When I saw it in the book. I figured that if i got it out onto a bit of cardboard, I might be able to get rid of it from our head.

The background came from a group of my old birthday cards etc that i found at my mums yesterday. Seems somehow to fit.

I dont think i will be using this card in my deck, but it feels good to be able to have it anyway. I might put it away with the last card i posted - the dream message one.

Will dialogue with this card later. When the time is right.

This is the first in my set of Element cards. This is water. I love the fish at the bottom right of the card. Check out the look on his face. This is the only card that I have made that contains hand drawn images.

Dreams

I found this image while flipping through a magazine and had to leap up there and then and stick it to a piece of mat board. I think it is so ethereal and just perfect how it is. I really like it.

I am the one who stands in the light when all around me is dark. I am the one who dreams of a greater life. Allows myself to dream. Believes in fairy tales. Trusts that things are not always what they seem. Knows that although the castle is situated upon a sheer cliff, there is safety within the walls. There is beauty to be found within. That the possibilities are endless.

Faith

Ahhhhh, my favourite card so far (remember my best card, is the next one I make). When I made this I thought it was about entering another dimension, or something along those lines. After dialoguing, I realised it was Faith. Just love it.

I am the one who allows me to enter another realm. Provides a place to stop and contemplate whether I will enter or not. I give options regarding whether or not to move forward. I am attuned to nature and to spirit. I am as ancient as all time. I am the way to freedom. I am the way to growth. I am the essential part of the journey which must be taken with much thought. You must have faith that what lies behind this doorway is what is necessary for your growth. Be like “The Fool” and walk forward, open the door and enter. You are where you need to be on your journey through life.

Inner Child

I absolutely adore this card. I love the energy of the child in the black and white image. I love the pink. I love it all.

I am the one who is young and free and alive. I radiate joy and happiness and positive self image. I leap with the sheer joy of life. My eyes look right into your soul and connect with the child within you. When I was very small I was still wondering if I had made the right decision but now I know I am in exactly the right place. I am filled to overflowing with love and light.

Teenage Girls

Hmmm, I made this card when I was having a really hard time with my teenage daughters. I am not sure of its purpose but it was quite cathartic to get it out on mat board!

I am the one who is young at heart. I can be silly with my friends and not care what anyone thinks. I am beautiful in my innocence but my transition to womanhood is already in progress. I have the support of my peers. I am comfortable and revel in my blossoming maturity. I am happy and carefree.

Healthy body

I am not sure what was going on in my head when I made this card. I dont like it at all now. Anyway... on with the show.....

I am the one who fills my body with healthy nutritious food. I think about the way the food I eat interacts with my system. I choose fresh food that has not been modified in any way. I drink plenty of water. I find time to relax and calm my busy mind. I eat breakfast every day to keep my metabolism working healthily.

Meditate

I am not sure whether this card still speaks to me. Maybe I will need to add to it. Not sure. Will leave it for a while and see how I feel about it one day when I have the time to think about it.

I am the one who finds solace in the process of meditation. I can become still and empty my mind of all unnecessary chatter. Turns my face upwards to bask in the light of the divine. Feels safe and secure in opening my mind to my higher self. Trusts my inner guidance. Lives and relates through my heart chakra. Is a healer and is healed.

Go with the Flow

I love the tranquility of this card, another single image card.

I am the one who goes with the flow. I sit peacefully as things rush by. I am at one with nature and am solid and grounded. I support new growth. I have faith.

Ascension

This is one of my first single image cards. I love the balance of the image and feel it is very powerful. One of my favourite cards.

I am the one who is lifted up by angels. I move towards the light of the universal energy. Others try to hold me back but I am not within their reach. I am apart from the mindless grovelling of humankind. I am supported by the divine.

I am the one who is carefree and confident. I am content with myself and dont care what others think of me. I am having a good time and know how to party. I am beautiful just the way I am. I am free of the pressures of the opinions of others. I am strong and independent.

Contentment

This is the first card I ever created at group with Kathleen. We were set the challenge to create a card depicting 'Gratitude'. This proved to be incredibly difficult and this resulting card (which I am not overly fond of now) I now think of as Contentment.

I am the one who is satisfied with my life. I feel contentment and appreciation for the simple things like health, beauty and nature. I am relaxed knowing all is well in my world. I look on the bright side of life and think of the glass as 'half full'. I know how to relax and honour myself by relaxing regularly.

I am going to be chronicling my journey into SoulCollage on this blog. I will post my dialogue with each card and any links to other valuable SoulCollage sites.

This process is a truly amazing journey into listening to the 'Voices of the Soul'. I want to thank you Kathleen for introducing me, I know already that this is definitely a lifetime obsession. I am passionate about telling everyone I know about this - it sounds so very simple but in truth is amazingly complex, and amazingly insightful.

So far, I have completed 17 cards and I think my best card is the one I will make next.
